It’s part of Malta’s 2021-2027 Operational Programme, focusing on boosting socioeconomic well-being. IIS allocates funds to employers for upskilling their workforce, aiming to enhance productivity and adaptability in the Maltese labour market. This scheme offers a subsidy on training costs, wage costs, and air travel during the training period.
Launched on the 18th of September 2023, with a budget of approximately €4 million, the scheme welcomes applications until 31 December 2026, prioritising a first-come, first-served basis. The scheme is open to all employers, excluding Local Councils, Public Entities, Government Departments, and entities where the Government holds over 50% shareholding.
