A co-operative is a unique, member-driven business model where individuals come together to meet common economic, social, and cultural goals. Whether it’s a worker co-operative, a retail co-operative, or an educational co-operative, the possibilities are vast. In Malta, you need at least five members to form a co-operative.

Here’s how to register:
1. Draft a statute: Define your goals, roles, and methods of achieving them.
2. Prepare a business plan: Show the financial viability with professional help.
3. Register with the Malta Business Registry (MBR): Submit the necessary documents and get approval from the Co-operatives Board.

After approval, you’ll receive a certificate of registration, and the co-operative will be published in the official Gazette.
