Effective 1 August 2025, significant changes to employment reporting and migration compliance will take effect in Malta. Employers must submit new hire and termination forms within four working days, maintain accurate digital records, and comply with stricter job advertising and redundancy rules before recruiting Third Country Nationals (TCNs). Additional updates include new work permit fees, extended grace periods for terminated TCNs, salary thresholds, electronic wage payments, and workforce quotas. Employers are urged to prepare early to ensure full compliance and avoid penalties.
