Malta Budget 2021 – A General Overview

In the Budget speech for 2021, Finance Minister Prof. Edward Scicluna announced various measures for the regeneration and stimulation of the economy. A number of incentives forming part of the Economic Regeneration Plan targeting the retail, catering, and tourism sectors and the property sector were extended whilst various fiscal, social, and environmental measures were rolled-out to assist pensioners, employees, and small businesses in view of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Other incentives announced are aimed at reaching the Government’s longer-term goal of reducing harmful practices on our environment and to promote a greener economy.
