DFK Malta is on the lookout for a Payroll and Recruitment Assistant to join our HR & Payroll Department! The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring clients’ payrolls are processed accurately and on time, while also supporting our recruitment team with day-to-day hiring operations. Role and Responsibilities
- Maintaining employee records, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
- Reviewing payroll calculations provided by third party providers.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries.
- Updating records of employee vacation and sick leave.
- Accurately enter payroll data into the payroll system, ensuring all calculations, deductions, and reimbursements are properly accounted for.
- Administering payroll deductions for taxes, fringe benefits and other benefits programs as per employee instructions and legal requirements.
- Keeping updated on payroll regulations, tax laws and changes in the Maltese Legislation.
- Maintaining and organising payroll records, including employee information, tax rates and other payroll related documents.
- Generating payroll reports as required, including payroll summaries, tax reports and year-end reports.
- Collaborating with the Payroll & HR team to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation and increased efficiency in payroll processes and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Provide support to the HR/Recruitment team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required and ensuring continuity of recruitment operations during staff absences.
Requirements
- At least 1 year prior experience in a similar position.
- Experience with Shireburn Indigo Payroll Software would be considered an asset.
- Be a self-motivated, mature, and organised individual.
- Ability to prioritise and deliver with strict deadlines.
- Strong command of written and spoken Maltese (mandatory).
- Strong Team player.
