Job Description
As a Purchasing and Sales Team Leader, the right candidate will oversee supplier procurement, inventory control, and shop operations, while leading the Sales team and coordinating marketing initiatives to strengthen the company’s presence with contractors, builders, and sole traders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for quality and cost-effective finishing materials.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain effective inventory control.
- Supervise and support shop staff, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Set and track sales targets, resolving escalated customer issues as needed.
- Coordinate marketing activities and promotional campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and traders.
- Prepare reports on purchasing, stock, sales, and marketing activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as required across the group.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement, sales, and team supervision (finishing materials or retail preferred).
- Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Shireburn software or similar tools (a strong plus).
- Marketing know-how for local promotions, campaigns, and events.
- Organized, proactive, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment
